Pros

We get to work with decades old technology

Cons

Verisign used to be an incredible place to work — strong leadership, transparent communication, and genuine respect for employees. Unfortunately, that’s changed drastically over the past year. The company has forced employees back into the office under the guise of “knowledge transfer,” even though we successfully collaborated remotely for over 5 years without issue. Senior leadership rarely engages with employees outside their own circles, creating a noticeable disconnect between executives and the rest of the organization. Morale has plummeted to an all-time low. To make matters worse, the company quietly eliminated its DEI initiatives earlier this year, seemingly hoping no one would notice. It’s disheartening to see how far things have fallen from the open, progressive culture Verisign once had.

Good Benefits, Cliquey Leadership

Pros

Pay is good, benefits are good

Cons

Leadership is cliquey and overworks direct reports. I feel like I'm seen as just a cog in the machine and as disposable. No room for growth within the company.

RTO is killing morale

Pros

Interesting work, pretty good pay and benefits

Cons

They are making us RTO 2 days a week for the sake of "productivity" or "collaboration" (or whatever they're calling it) if we live near Reston. People who were hired during covid that are remote don't have to RTO or come in on any schedule. They're completely exempt. The executives are not doing anything to make it up to the people who have to comply with this..... it's just a huge slap in the face to anyone local. I don't know if anyone from the leadership team reads these, but they should take notice how the last three reviews for this company are now 1 star in light of RTO. No one wants this and there is no need for this - why are we being punished?

Pros

PTO and PFL are okay.

Cons

It’s become increasingly obvious over the past couple of months that senior leadership is completely disconnected from the realities of the business. After five years of successful remote work, during which we consistently received praise for our collaboration and performance, they’re now abruptly forcing everyone back into the office under the guise of “enhancing collaboration.” It's either a RIF in disguise, or a poor decision. This shift appears to be less about productivity and more about justifying poor real estate decisions, specifically, the purchase of a second building that now sits unused. Instead of owning the mistake, leadership is choosing to penalize employees who’ve been delivering results remotely for half a decade. It feels like we’re being dragged back into the office to make their financial missteps look better on paper. Morale is slipping, and trust in leadership is fading fast.
