Project Manager (Microsoft 365 Security & Copilot Readiness Program)

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a Microsoft 365 Security-First Foundation & Copilot Readiness transformation program for an enterprise client.
This engagement focuses on establishing a secure, governed, and AI-ready Microsoft 365 environment by implementing identity governance, Zero Trust security controls, permission governance, Purview information protection, and structured Copilot enablement.
The Project Manager will coordinate cross-functional technical workstreams, manage stakeholder communication, enforce delivery governance, and ensure successful execution across all project phases.
This role is ideal for a PM with strong experience managing Microsoft cloud transformation, cybersecurity, compliance, and enterprise governance initiatives.
Project Scope

- Identity & Access Governance (Entra ID, MFA, Conditional Access, PIM)
- Microsoft 365 Governance & Permission Hygiene
- SharePoint / Teams / Groups Standardization
- Microsoft Purview Information Protection
- Sensitivity Labels & Data Classification
- Copilot Readiness & Controlled Rollout
- Zero Trust Security Implementation
- Operational Governance & Handover
Key ResponsibilitiesProgram & Delivery Management
- Lead end-to-end delivery of the Microsoft 365 security and governance transformation program
- Manage project timelines, milestones, dependencies, and delivery risks
- Coordinate multiple parallel workstreams across security, identity, governance, Purview, and Copilot enablement
- Ensure adherence to project scope, budget, and implementation sequencing
- Facilitate daily/weekly project meetings and executive status reporting
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as primary coordination point between client stakeholders and technical delivery teams
- Manage communications with IT leadership, security teams, compliance teams, and business stakeholders
- Escalate blockers, risks, and governance decisions proactively
- Drive alignment on rollout priorities and operational readiness
Governance & Compliance Oversight
- Ensure governance controls and approval processes are followed throughout implementation
- Track completion of security gating requirements before progression into downstream phases
- Maintain audit-ready project documentation and reporting artifacts
- Support change management and operational transition activities
Operational Coordination
- Coordinate technical specialists including:
- M365 Architect
- Security Architect
- Identity Engineer
- Azure Engineer
- Purview Compliance Specialist
- Copilot Specialist
- Monitor resource allocation and delivery capacity
- Ensure successful handover into operational support/governance model
Required ExperienceMust-Have
- 5+ years of Project Management experience in enterprise IT or cloud transformation projects
- Proven experience managing Microsoft 365 or Azure-related implementations
- Experience coordinating security, governance, or compliance initiatives
- Strong understanding of enterprise delivery methodologies and stakeholder management
- Experience managing cross-functional technical teams
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
Preferred
- Experience with:
- Microsoft 365 Administration
- Entra ID / Azure AD
- Microsoft Purview
- Zero Trust security models
- Copilot or AI readiness programs
- SharePoint / Teams governance
- Familiarity with Agile, hybrid, or enterprise PMO delivery models
- PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum, or equivalent certification

Engagement Details
- Duration: 10–12 Weeks
- Allocation: Part-Time (~15% FTE)
- Work Model: Remote / Hybrid (depending on client requirements)
- Start Date: Immediate / Negotiable
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and experienced in enterprise cloud transformation environments. They are capable of managing both technical and executive stakeholders while ensuring governance, security, and operational readiness remain central throughout delivery.
Experience managing Microsoft security and governance initiatives in regulated or enterprise environments will be highly advantageous.
