Firstly, we want to thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We have a very open and honest culture at The Good Care Group and feedback is incredibly important to us. We always try to act upon feedback wherever we can and have implemented many new initiatives through feedback gained from our care team via annual surveys, monthly supervisions and during refresher training lunches hosted by a member of the senior leadership team. We are saddened to read that you felt your opinion does not matter, that is absolutely not a part of the workplace culture we want at TGCG. We know there are still some things we could do better and we will always continue to look at ways in which we can make improvements for our teams. We also have many initiatives focused on wellbeing and support in placement and was sorry to read that you felt this was lacking in your time with us. Support is at the heart of everything we do. We have individual support plans for each carer, to better understand the support required for each individual, a buddy scheme, support from a dedicated care manager, our Employee Assistance Programme and support from our head office 24/7/365 days a year. We thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. We are always looking for ways to improve and want to ensure that we continue to provide the very best care to our clients and employees. Whilst we cannot comment on your individual circumstances, we would welcome the opportunity to understand this further, so please do reach out to us directly. Thank you for the difference you made to our clients, we wish you all the best.

Firstly, thank you for being part of our team. We are pleased to read that you found our training and ongoing development thorough as we want all our carers to be able to progress and expand their skill set to deliver the very best care. We are saddened to hear that you felt like you didn't receive the necessary communication from your care manager. Support is incredibly important to us and we have many systems in place to ensure all of our employees are supported throughout their employment with us. We would welcome the opportunity to better understand your experiences and would encourage you to reach out to us. As well as their care manager, there is a regional manager available that our carer can reach out to, if for any reason they feel they are not able to speak to their care manager. We have also recently introduced individual support plans for each carer, so that we can better understand the support you need whilst in placement. Outside of this we also have our Employee Assistance Programme and support from our central office team 24/7 365 days a year. Thank you for your feedback, it is really important to us as it helps us to ensure that we continue to provide the very best care and support not only to our clients but our professional carers too. We wish you all the best.

Pros

Travel expenses paid immediately through website

Cons

Lack of communication, no support or duty of care for staff. Was in a placement that was very challenging. 15 hours a day with no break. Many occasions informed care management of being very stressed and exhausted. Ended up having a mental and physical breakdown. To the point where I am now incapable of working at all.and also on medication. This company was fully aware for several months of my struggles. Was then referred to a OT who advised the company what ever placement I was at next to be risk assessed for me , then I was sent to a placement with an alcoholic lady where I had to live in a caravan in the garden with no toilet facilities. The first 2 years I worked for the company was amazing, god knows what happened to them .....

We are saddened to read that you felt a lack of communication and support whilst working with us. We are a people business and the wellbeing of our teams, as well as that of our clients, is always at the forefront of everything we do. Whilst it is difficult to comment on your individual experiences, we do have robust support systems in place for our teams. These include a dedicated Care Manager, our carer services team who are available 24/7 via phone and our employee assistance programme that supports employees with any personal problems that might adversely impact their wellbeing, health or their work. We would encourage all of our Professional carers to raise any concerns with their Care Manager in the first instance, or to their Regional Manager or the Director of Operations if they felt for any reason that their concerns were not being addressed. We would welcome the opportunity to better understand your experiences in working with us and encourage you to reach out to us directly by emailing feedback@thegoodcaregroup.com With regards to the working hours we would absolutely not expect any of our Professional Carers to be working 15 hours days without a break. All of our placements are based on a daily average hours agreement (DAHA). This is based on the things that a client will need support with. We always try to ensure that a care plan is as accurate as possible; quite often, especially when a client has complex care needs things can evolve quite quickly, as a person's needs can change all the time. In order to keep everything as up to date as possible it's so important to make sure that we are all communicating well so that we can ensure reviews pick up on any changes. This in turn ensures that we also capture how many hours a person is working and that the care level is reflective of this. A standard DAHA is normally an average of 10 hours and our more complex placements will be 12 hours. Anyone working on a 12 hour DAHA will receive an additional daily payment to reflect this.

Pros

Communication is key, Policies and procedures are there for a reason with these followed and more then The Good Care Group can encourage you to be the best you can be, I have been with this company for nearly 2 years {2 years in April] and I have loved being here, My GM is amazing, she is understanding, supportive, caring and listens to what you are saying, with that being said she will always let you know where you went wrong and how to move forward, I have been with the same GM since I started and I am not nor do I have any intentions on going anywhere else, Recently with working along Home Instead I have been approached by the branch members where I am currently placed and have been asked on numerous occasions "so when are you moving over to us then?" to which at the time all I could do was laugh, The Good Care Group encourage you to be the best carer you can be, They encourage nothing less than best practice, they expect nothing less than professionalism, If your looking to grow, not only personally but professionally well then look no further, Come and apply, YOU definitely wont be disappointed

Cons

If you find one well then let me know because I havnt found one as of yet

Pros

Great training and positive support in the beginning from the office. Travel and most expenses are paid for. 24/7 access to carer services.

Cons

Little to no active communication after the first 6 weeks on the job. You have to chase the care managers to check in with you, scheduling has been a mess, I've seen 4 different scheduling people that don't seem to talk with each other. When you're not in placement you don't seem to matter. pay schedule is backwards and you don't always end up getting paid for the days you work each month because of the cut off days.Pay isn't worth the sacrifices you expected to make.
