Pros

TGCG are excellent at acknowledging the skill sets of their carers, and making them feel valued as professionals in a demanding field. I have worked for several care companies over the last almost decade, and they are the only company I would return to.

Cons

Much like the rest of the care industry the pay isn't really representative of the work involved, specifically in regards to disturbed nights. Basic rate is £103 per day, I think.

Inicial years were good... until buy out

Cons

As the company was taken over the majority of the head office staff jumped ship. The support we were supposed to receive as live in carers became non existent and didn't improve.

We are saddened to read your review about working with The Good Care Group. After our acquisition in 2019 we became part of a bigger family of brands and were able to build great connections with our sister companies. This has brought many great opportunities for our teams to develop into new roles - something which we are very proud of. The past 20 months have been incredibly challenging for everyone working in the health and social care sector, including the management teams. We have all had to adapt very quickly to new ways of working and the majority of feedback we have received from our teams around our response to Covid 19 and the support in place has been positive. We are a people business and try to support our teams in any way we can. As well as support from our Care Managers and Regional Support Assistants, our Carers also have access to free confidential advice, around any of the challenges life may bring, via our employee assistance programme. That said, we are never happy to receive such a negative review and whilst it is difficult to comment on your individual circumstances online, we would encourage you to reach out to us so that we can better understand your individual circumstances which have led to you leaving this review.

Firstly thank you for being a part of our team for over 3 years! The difference all of our Professional Carers make for their clients is incredible. We are really pleased to read that you feel there is good communication from our office teams and that you have a positive view of our Carer training. We understand that live-in care, like any role, comes with its unique challenges. It is incredibly important to us that our Carers feel well supported and able to access advice when they need it. That's why all of our Carers have a dedicated Care Manager, access to our Carer Services team via phone 24/7, 365 days a year and an employee assistance programme to support employees with any personal problems that might adversely impact their wellbeing, health or their work. Whilst we have robust systems in place to ensure that the care plan is updated regularly, our clients' needs can change all the time. It is important that we all continue to communicate well to ensure that these changes are captured, the care plan is updated and that it reflects how many hours a person is working. If you have not already done so, please do speak to your Care Manager if your client's care plan needs reviewing. We are also in the middle of piloting a new digital process which enables our Professional Carers to comment and make suggestions directly on the care plan via the Carer Community and would love to hear from you if you would like to be involved in the user testing.
