I don't normally write any reviews about bad interview experience. How should I start? I applied a Business Assistant role on their website (the role is based in London). After a few days, I received a reject email. So I thought that was it. Then I received an email from the recruiter who was in charge of this vacancy, she thought my experience interesting, encouraged me to apply on line. I told her that I already did and I received a reject email from their career portal. She said that was an system error (really?) she proposed to give me a call to discuss about my experience and the role on a Monday. We fixed the time, but she didn't call. NO EXPLANATION, NOT A SINGLE WORD. I sent her a text and an email asking her to reschedule, NO REPLY. After one day, I contacted one of her colleagues, I was told that he will try to get her to give me a call. Still, nothing happened. Maybe she changed her mind over the weekend? No idea. In any case, a simple email with just a couple of lines is enough, but she didn't bother to do so. I personally feel this is very unprofessional as I previously worked for a recruitment company, this is what my boss called 'cow boy' style recruiter. CLUELESS. I might never get to work for Arup. But I want to share my experience here. Maybe I am unlucky, but for a company well-known like Arup, this paints a very bad picture to me. And if this recruiter is reading this comment (which I doubt), she probably can recognise who I am, and most probably put me into her 'blacklist'. Well, I don't care, I won't apply any roles at this company.
