Pros

Management and coworkers are great to work with and it is a pretty small group of about 10 people; you have flexibility and have independence to decide how best to implement the curriculum; there is a provided textbook for every class level; possible opportunities to teach private students who sign up for classes

Cons

There are only opportunities for part-time work (18 hours a week plus occasional subbing and conversation classes) and no room for advancement

Pros

The people in your immediate circle you get to work with as you form great friendships. The students you get to interact with and assist.

Cons

As happens with most places that don't understand the value of loyalty, genuine constructive criticism, and honest opinions and undermine them with prioritizing boot-licking and people who like to remain in 'good books' for their own selfish interest, the upper levels of management simply love the attention and being put on a pedestal with seriously no merit or achievement shown over the years of them being in that role - it's a slippery slope!

Pros

Great colleagues, good working atmosphere, lots of opportunities to meet new people, learn new languages, and sample life in Frankfurt. Fair pay and hours. Overall a most positive experience.

Cons

Some performance pressure but not more than is normal in this sector.

Pros

Nice staff and co-workers. Supportive, approachable boss. Good (adult) students who want to learn but don't take things TOO seriously, either. Good textbooks and a curriculum that's easy to follow.

Cons

Pay isn't great. I'm not sure what the going rate is for ESL Teachers in an American city, but it seems on the low end. I might be wrong. For how high their enrollment is, I think they could pay more if they wanted to avoid the turnover that they have. No benefits or paid sick leave or sick days or anything like that. But that's to be expected when you only work eighteen hours per week. The idea is that you have another part-time job somewhere else.

Pros

Access to a wide range of students from varied backgrounds. Supported training and extensive in-class teaching experience. Worry- free teaching environment with minimal restrictions, garnered towards progress and development of students using teacher-based resources which allows teachers sufficient room to assess individuals and design courses as per their requirements.

Cons

Lack of curriculum based resources, which sometimes became quite frustrating.
