Culture of Gaslighting

Pros

Pretty high salary compared to other companies based in CIS. Office without borders policy allows you to work from abroad for up to 6 months.

Cons

The main issue at the company is that despite everyone in management telling you about the values and supermission, not every manager actually cares about them or their employees. Despite "admitting mistakes" being stated in the manager's guidebook, most of management would actively gaslight you into thinking you are the problem and that you did something wrong, despite their own misconduct as if you made them do it. At very high levels, managers would make big announcements that actually are not true, and when you bring them up again, they will be ignored or the manager will never admit they stated this in the first place. Working at inDrive is a lottery some managers are genuinely good people who care about their engineers, but some really don't, and it's not being enforced in any way. There's no company standard. The whole experience makes me feel dumb for believing in the company culture in the first place.

Pros

Truly mission-driven company with a strong social agenda — inDrive doesn’t just talk about impact, it invests in it. High level of autonomy and ownership: you can lead complex projects across countries and see real results. Rapid professional growth, especially for those who are proactive and strategic. International, fast-paced environment with diverse teams and ambitious initiatives. Opportunity to shape new processes and build things from scratch — perfect for builders and systems thinkers. Encourages innovation, cross-functional collaboration, and reflection on social chane, which is rare in corporate settings.

Cons

Constant restructuring and changing priorities can create ambiguity and require high adaptability. Lack of mature internal processes in some areas; many things depend on people rather than systems. Limited resources compared to ambitions, especially in social initiatives. Decision-making can be centralized or unclear at times, making it hard to move fast.

Spiral downfall of inDrive

Pros

It was a dynamic and interesting place to work before some of the top managers joined the company and rose to power. Work-life balance is great, as goals and targets are not clear, priorities always changing and as a result, there is no motivation to perform well. The company claimed, and the CEO reiterated multiple times, that the IPO would be soon, but it never materialized, and it probably won't happen in the future.

Cons

CEO and CEO-1 are not capable of managing such a complex enterprise. Politics is everywhere, chaos in processes is killing all attempts to build something great, talented people are exiting the company, leaving space for not very bright colleagues to flourish in this toxic environment. The compensation structure is poorly structured and below the market. Several re-orgs didn't bring any feasible results, and the mess between different functions and HQ-Regional teams is still there. Wouldn't recommend this company.

Pros

product culture grows professional architects and infrastructure overall nice people treats minorities well nice mission easy to create illusion of work

Cons

Upper management doesn't listen to engineers down the hierarchy (pay is slow to grow, banning Linux for workstations, doing projects without research data) Hard to do your job right Getting a promotion is overworking Talented employees leave the company HR department works only against the employees

Pros

A few talented and motivated people who genuinely care about their work and try to make a positive impact.

Cons

The company lacks clear processes and structure, which creates constant chaos and inefficiency. Management often makes decisions without transparency or proper communication, leading to confusion and misalignment across teams. Workload can be overwhelming due to poor planning and lack of automation, and there is little support to balance priorities. Career growth opportunities are unclear, and feedback is inconsistent. The culture tends to prioritize short-term results over sustainable development and employee well-being.
