Pros

The salary is above average for many roles — unfortunately, it is the only positive aspect I can point out.

Cons

There is a highly toxic environment with constantly changing requirements and unclear expectations. Statistics and reports are often requested last-minute — sometimes only 30 minutes before a meeting — creating unnecessary pressure. Daily overtime has become the norm in order to keep up with regular tasks. This has led to the biggest burnout I’ve experienced in my life. Management is condescending, and the manager does not defend or support the team. The culture claims to be “like a family,” but in reality, it is far from it.

Pros

Good colleagues and interesting products, but the current work environment and management decisions make it impossible to remain productive or motivated in the long term.

Cons

The technical environment is extremely frustrating. Long daily updates and forced restarts often destroy a week’s worth of work. The Zero-Trust configuration and firewalls are so strict that they block communication between machines and stop development processes. Support for infrastructure and network tickets is very slow, often taking weeks. Management has an outdated mindset. They ban AI tools for a lot of colleagues, claiming it creates "knowledge gaps," which only prevents us from being efficient. Furthermore, the financial policy is demotivating. Salaries are low (only 3% increase last year and 2% this year) and there are no bonuses. While the company reports good profits and the stock price rises, the budget for employees is shrinking to please shareholders. This "cost-cutting" and the active redundancy program create a toxic atmosphere where we are told the company is doing well, but "there is no money" for the staff. Finally, the HR department is very petty; they refused to provide my public transport card (a standard benefit) during my 2-month notice period, which is unprofessional.

Pros

In some locations, such as Bulgaria, Dormakaba offers an excellent benefits package and a strong market position in terms of salaries, working hours and company culture. I have worked at Dormakaba for two years and, based on my experience, I have always been satisfied with the company. I feel like my voice has been heard and I have an amazing team and great managers.

Cons

Different people, different locations, different teams. There are always problems here and there, and I can't say that every team or manager is as well chosen as mine. However, I can say for sure that Dormakaba has high standards when it comes to the hiring process, and everything possible is done to employ good, qualified people who share our company culture.
