Pros

some aspects are great like the free lunches and variety of snacks and location of the office. Personally I had a great manager and team, fairly good collaboration with other teams.

Cons

very cliquey, not the most welcoming culture and when looking back, it is not the most diverse. felt fairly demotivated due to the cliquey office culture but overtime it got better. had had plenty of changes in the last 3-4 years and can feel everyone is always on edge, with the new merger/acquisition I can anticipate a lot of changes but do not really see this as the most profitable company. did notice some favouritism.

Pros

The people and the quality of the process BEFORE the merger. Can’t say much about it now. A focus on immediate delivery is the norm. Quantity over quality.

Cons

The culture around firing people. I was fired without it being merit-based. If you think you’re too relevant or careful to be affected, think again. I was let go by this company around Christmas and now I have to scale back my career plan. Just be aware of that potential. And they had cycles of firing people constantly in the past - it’s not like it’s a post-merger thing. So the objective is profit for the top only. The culture is shifting drastically away from an european one and into a US-style. It barely qualifies as an european company anymore. No salary increases. What you sign is what you get. The 6-month evaluation is procedural. Good luck. I was also screwed over the micro-equity I was promised. Not only me, as well. They might start framing me as some sort of disgruntled employee but they sure didn’t signal that at all while I was there, so be aware of how they talk about people that were let go and that have left. You might be next. Or not. Be also aware of how you manage your funds before being let go/ while you’re there. I see a LOT of people leaving the boat - that is indicative of something, as well.

Pros

There are some really great people at Showpad. I got to work on fun projects and be part of an amazing team. Working for a global company is a cool learning experience. The company culture used to be amazing, and there is good work/life balance for some teams.

Cons

Rather than address the real company issues, they instead do RIFs and reorgs to (temporarily) solve business problems. But if these actions actually solved anything, they wouldn't need to keep doing them. After a RIF or reorg, workloads don't change and expectations remain unreasonable, requiring more work with less resources and support. Diversity used to be a priority, but that's no longer the case, and leadership actions disproportionately impact underrepresented populations. All women in the C-suite have left or been let go.
