Pros
The people and the quality of the process BEFORE the merger. Can’t say much about it now. A focus on immediate delivery is the norm. Quantity over quality.
Cons
The culture around firing people. I was fired without it being merit-based. If you think you’re too relevant or careful to be affected, think again. I was let go by this company around Christmas and now I have to scale back my career plan. Just be aware of that potential. And they had cycles of firing people constantly in the past - it’s not like it’s a post-merger thing. So the objective is profit for the top only. The culture is shifting drastically away from an european one and into a US-style. It barely qualifies as an european company anymore. No salary increases. What you sign is what you get. The 6-month evaluation is procedural. Good luck. I was also screwed over the micro-equity I was promised. Not only me, as well. They might start framing me as some sort of disgruntled employee but they sure didn’t signal that at all while I was there, so be aware of how they talk about people that were let go and that have left. You might be next. Or not. Be also aware of how you manage your funds before being let go/ while you’re there. I see a LOT of people leaving the boat - that is indicative of something, as well.
