Pros

Some really talented people who have a passion to make the company the best

Cons

Struggles with delivery to the point of frustration among employees. Not really a place where things can get done in any timely manner.

Pros

PayFast used to be one of the best, family centric start ups I ever worked for. I enjoyed my job and going to work.

Cons

Now, after being bought by Network International, people are just numbers amd not treated well at all. The worst HR department ever.

Pros

Great people to work with. PayFast used to be an amazing company to work for but after key people left and was bought over 3 times it has no resemblance of what it once was.

Cons

Management lacks transparency (say's one thing but does another), blames developers for poor planning and delivery (where devs was not part of or not listened to by management/product), lack of professionalism, lack of vision, lack of trust and lack of overall incentive. I could go on and on.

Pros

No shifts, salary was okay, most of the people are amazing.

Cons

Favoritism and micro management was prevalent. Culture was amazing but became toxic.

Pros

The people are fantastic, the office is beautiful, and you might even score a free underground parking bay. They offer a retirement annuity and support for further learning (with a few conditions). Plus, everyone works on one floor, so you have easy access to people from all departments.

Cons

Projects often come with little information and tight, unrealistic deadlines, making it hard to deliver your best work. Suggestions to improve processes are brushed aside, leaving things feeling chaotic. With no clear leadership—or urgency to establish it—the team feels disconnected, with no shared goals or decision-making authority. This creates confusion, unearned expectations, and unnecessary friction. Projects frequently get started but are then dropped, so you rarely get the satisfaction of completing something meaningful. Bigger projects are handed off to agencies that don’t know the brand as well, which feels like a lack of trust in your abilities and limits your chances to grow. There is always a feeling of the looming threat of "restructuring".

Pros

Exciting changes were promised for the merge of PayFast and PayGate, along with Network International.

Cons

The original ext team from PayFast left and was replaced with PayGate employees PayFast is now just the name of the company, but the people, the employees who worked hard to build the company to the status it has today is no longer part of the amazing company we once knew, built and maintained. We have been replaced
