With no clear leadership—or urgency to establish it—the team feels disconnected, with no shared goals or decision-making authority. This creates confusion, unearned expectations, and unnecessary friction. Projects frequently get started but are then dropped, so you rarely get the satisfaction of completing something meaningful. Bigger projects are handed off to agencies that don’t know the brand as well, which feels like a lack of trust in your abilities and limits your chances to grow. There is always a feeling of the looming threat of "restructuring".
