Petty retail hell

Pros

30% discount and tips. that's it.

Cons

Management doesn't care about employees and would rather fire you than have to deal with anything. No sick leave, pto accrual minuscule, immature coworkers and management, Management seems very young and unable to handle their jobs. Constant mistakes, very poor organization. No rules enforced. Everyone always watching what they say in case the one ass-kissing employee runs to management with an irrelevant complaint. Hours not promised or guaranteed, prepare to have your hours cut without warning or explanation. If this is your only job you're gonna be homeless, unless you or someone you live with has a second income. Scheduling is incompetent. Do not work here. Zero stars. Management thinks you're disposable and doesn't care if you have human needs. They should hire robots instead.

Pros

Discount/samples Sometimes suite tickets at the moda

Cons

Could care less about its employees. Persons of color are expendable and used as tokens until you reach a pay cap then they’ll find any reason to fire you. They allow scheduling coordinators to make decisions that really should be made by HR. They will change policy in the middle of the year with little to no notice. Seniority means nothing no matter how many years you’ve worked for them. Management only says things to pacify those at the store retail level without any real change. Non accommodating to black and brown single parents, although white coworkers with no responsibilities are given first dibs on hours no matter how long they have been with the company. They will preach advancement but it truly only goes up to store manager and caps off there. There is no room to grow because all of the upper management posistiins are filled by friends and family of the owner

Pros

It paid the bills co-workers

Cons

Nepotism, people are not promoted based on competence rather who they know, no industry discounts, no accountability, expect minimum wage retail employees to also play security guard and maintenance crew. Scheduling is a nightmare, they'll cut your hours without notice.

Pros

Discounts are nice, coworkers are great.

Cons

Every single location is ran like a high-schools cliquey popularity contest. Managers skim from employee of the month baskets if they know it's going to someone they don't like. Poor leadership. Owned by a Florida corporation.

Terrible Company

Pros

Goody bags, nice regulars, and some good coworkers

Cons

Managements cuts corners, makes guards scan invalid ID's, understaffs shifts to save money, micromanages and watches employees like a hawk, will drop you with no warning, does not care about the safety of their staff, the insurance and benefits are not good. Normal shop toxicity and drama. Do not work here unless you absolutely have to.

Pros

My co workers were mostly all pretty charming. The employee discount was ok-ish (30% , but often there were other deals that were better than that one happening so not always worth it). The job could be pretty fun when it's just helping people shop for the perfect product, you learn your regulars and what they like pretty quickly and easy to establish good rapport.

Cons

Management is a real mess. Poor communication, rampant favoritism, employees are told they can rise up and be moved to other stores for their convenience but in reality the higher ups are blatantly uncaring to the concerns and complaints of their employees and don't seem to mind lying right to your face. This isn't relegated to one or two of the stores. Complaints roll in from every location. Employee safety is not a concern nor is their mental health. Robberies are frequent, sexual/racial/ and other forms of harassment from other employees and managers is often not dealt with quickly or sometimes at all, as they opt instead to move problematic people around and cause multiple innocent people damage instead of dropping the abuser once they are exposed. Dangerous or threatening customers are allowed to mistreat people multiple times before they will actually ban them, and management will often fight you over wanting to ban people who make you feel unsafe. Over working, unequal treatment of employees, and hypocrisy are so common place it's accepted as the norm for working there and while your being criticized for your every mistake, your higher ups are wandering around playing pokemon go and smoking joints while chit chatting with the managers for several hours while they're employees are getting slammed and then they have the audacity to brag about it when they get back. It's absolutely not worth it.
