Pros
My co workers were mostly all pretty charming. The employee discount was ok-ish (30% , but often there were other deals that were better than that one happening so not always worth it). The job could be pretty fun when it's just helping people shop for the perfect product, you learn your regulars and what they like pretty quickly and easy to establish good rapport.
Cons
Management is a real mess. Poor communication, rampant favoritism, employees are told they can rise up and be moved to other stores for their convenience but in reality the higher ups are blatantly uncaring to the concerns and complaints of their employees and don't seem to mind lying right to your face. This isn't relegated to one or two of the stores. Complaints roll in from every location. Employee safety is not a concern nor is their mental health. Robberies are frequent, sexual/racial/ and other forms of harassment from other employees and managers is often not dealt with quickly or sometimes at all, as they opt instead to move problematic people around and cause multiple innocent people damage instead of dropping the abuser once they are exposed. Dangerous or threatening customers are allowed to mistreat people multiple times before they will actually ban them, and management will often fight you over wanting to ban people who make you feel unsafe. Over working, unequal treatment of employees, and hypocrisy are so common place it's accepted as the norm for working there and while your being criticized for your every mistake, your higher ups are wandering around playing pokemon go and smoking joints while chit chatting with the managers for several hours while they're employees are getting slammed and then they have the audacity to brag about it when they get back. It's absolutely not worth it.
