Over the past few years, the company has pivoted away from its core values towards focusing on financial performance. Over this time frame I have noticed many changes, but the most alarming one is a sharp rise in toxic management behavior such as berating, demotions, micromanagement, patronizing, blaming the team, public belittling, etc. In some cases, people do talk to HR, but at the end they are not that helpful and the toxic behavior continues. It’s imperative for HR to take reports of such toxic behavior seriously and take meaningful action. It impacts morale, performance, mental health, and retention.
