Pros

Good perks, unlimited PTOs, Off-sites.

Cons

- Leaders are not able to decide what to build next and how to compete in the market. - The company has been going in losses for a couple of years and product management and engineering management have no clue how to retain existing customers. - They change their focus every quarter. Sometimes, they try to build new products but later stop them. - CEO has a lot of ambitions that can not be converted into reality due to weak leadership. VP of Engineering is not able to transfer all the energy to the engineers coming from the CEO. - Variables are not paid due to poor company performance. - Their pricing is high and nowadays better products are available in the market on low price.

Pros

As you can read from pervious reviews, the first pro about HackerRank is that it is the best product in the space (and, from direct experience with prospects/customers, its not even really that close ). But, for me, the best part about HackerRank is the people. The CEO has a strong and clear vision about where the company is going and is always available to hop on a customer call with you and meet with you directly for any reason. The same can be said about leadership across all verticals, everyone is approachable and willing to help and do whatever is needed to move the company forward and ensure the customers are happy. It's a cool experience to really enjoy everyone you work with and it's led to a open, collaborative environment on the floor. Work/Life balance is fantastic with reasonable expectations set out from day 1, and, as other reviews have mentioned, the perks are pretty generous.

Cons

It's a start up and has the associated traits - it's not perfect. As they continue to disrupt the technical hiring market, inevitably there is going to be change and growing pains. However, this contributes to the excitement of working for the company, as they grow you have to opportunity to make a tangible impact and see it in action.

Pros

HackerRank has done an awesome job at setting a great culture of humility, honesty and hard work and it starts at the top with our CEO. We’ve also done a great job of building upon it with hiring the right people. Here are some other pros; -Open line of communication and transparency -Flexible time off -Flexible schedule with the freedom of living your personal life as long as you preserve your professionalism -Daily free lunches -Great job at recognizing and awarding where it’s deserved -Many resources and tools to allow you to be successful in your day to day work duties.

Cons

While we’ve done a good job at putting the best people in the best positions to be successful. I think an area we can improve on is stability. There has been many changes in the org which may cause uncertainty with the rest of the company.

Pros

- Great mission you can stand behind: Skills-based hiring, matching every developer with the right job. - There are some great companies working with HackerRank that have seen tremendous success and ROI. The product is definitely a leader in the market - One of the biggest core values at the company is customer delight. We definitely put the customer first in most situations, all internals teams (including the CEO) are happy to jump in and help to ensure the customer is happy. - Vivek (CEO) and exec team are all very approachable, open and receptive to feedback. All weekly exec meetings notes are posted on an "open source" channel so everyone is aware of what's going on with the company - It's a typical start-up culture - open and collaborative. All my coworkers have been great to work with, everyone is willing to help each other out to make each other and the company successful. There is not that intense competition between teams that you can find at some companies.

Cons

- With half the team across the globe/in a different time zone, it can be difficult for internal communication. This can be improved among all teams. Sometimes it's unclear when certain product features will be released, which can be frustrating. - Although a market leader, there are a lot of competitors biting at our ankles. We need to be faster to innovate and more receptive to customer feedback else they will catch up.

Pros

Their salary range is decent based on location

Cons

I joined this organization in 2021 when it was at its peak. We had a diverse workforce, great management, opportunities for self improvement and development - however, that environment no longer exists at Hackerrank. Changes in leadership has caused a toxic work environment that doesn’t allow for transparency amongst collaborating teams, there is absolutely no room for growth or personal development… promotions are nonexistent. This place has gone downhill, a once a thriving, diverse work place is now ran by horrible. CEO doesn’t know how to run a business, or speak to employees let alone the customer. If you join this organization, be ready to have slack messages, coming from the CEO, to individual contributor, pass business hours, I’m talking about 10 PM at night asking you remedial questions. Not to mention, the CEO is running everything across the company, customer, communications, product, sales, etc. The product roadmap is never accurate, as an employee you never know when new product is launching. You’re constantly told to push new product features that either are never fully developed or broken upon release. This is such a frustrating place to work avoid by all means.

Pros

Harder and harder every day to find positives, unfortunately. Used to have a good work life balance, decent off-sites, great managers and co-workers. CEO is slowly but surely destroying the company culture and making it both a tedious and chaotic place to work.

Cons

RTO has cost the company a large amount of important and long standing employees, with no ability to replace them. US teams have been without EMs for 6 months - 1+ years, and are losing Product Managers as well.

Pros

Flexible timings Nothing much. to tell

Cons

Low Salary. The company is for just 4 (V H A S) Everyone Leaving left and right, the whole executive team is watching the exit gate and curious about who will be next. Founders are not running properly, technically CPO runs the company and the CEO takes orders from him.

Pros

The employees (meaning peers) make the time spent working here worth it. The added benefit perks are awesome if you choose to partake. This place used to be such an exciting and innovative place to work....

Cons

Company Goals - No overall plan or focus to propel a tech hiring company that is struggling, given the current hiring environment, to the next level. Zero progression on new products being added to the portfolio. Pricing structures change quite frequently and is still priced quite high for the industry making competitive sales quite difficult without discounting to meet customer budgets and needs. Competition is catching up/evening things out with a market that's becoming quite saturated with no real response from HackerRank to differentiate itself. Company goals change quite literally every month or quarter making it hard to prioritize what to focus on. Personal goals are virtually inexistent. Company moral and cultural is dying. Leadership - CEO and Senior Management has vision and passion, but it feels like there was no real contingency plan for potential hardships that the company may face after the well dries up. Leadership moves too fast without properly considering all angles before mandating change. Senior Leadership is out of touch with current employee job challenges and struggles. They tend to mandate change very fast without thinking things all the way through or with proper resources available to employees that have to see it out. Training - There has been no training for new roles that were mandated recently along with zero continuous training for employees throughout the past (outside of SKO type sessions that happen once a year) which are more high level and not actual training for the job that you are responsible for. Promotions/Raises - HAHA This used to be a huge benefit with annual increases, bonuses and accelerators, now quotas have been unattainable for over a year or two and they pile on multiple people's workloads onto one person without compensation. This is followed with them telling you that if you hit your numbers "it's like getting the raise that you were looking for". Avoid working here and the false promises that upper management makes.
