Pros
Most coworkers were amazing, a lot of teamwork, mostly flexible schedule, room for growth in different aspects. Definitely a good starting out job to teach responsibility, learn about animals, and taking care of them.
Cons
New change in management chain meant losing good managers to fit their new order, or some had to step down and take massive pay cuts. The store manager i personally had was a not so great person who mainly stayed in the office for 75% of his shift, would take his hour long lunch late, then would leave any hour early for no reason. If we had to cut hours, he would leave or just not show up despite being salaried. Even other managers agreed that it made no sense for him to do so. Once they changed our management layout, 95% of employees became unhappy to the point that regular customers could sense the difference. Also, unless you're a dog groomer or manager, there's no full time (at least in a microstore), so no benefits like health insurance, 401k, or any other similar, which makes no sense seeing how big of a corporation they are. The insurance they do offer for full time employees is absolute garbage and super expensive from what I've been told by the ones who qualify for it. Lastly, this has nothing to do with the store personally, but the pet supplier: ENOUGH GUINEA PIGS!! Control how many are being bred verses what you're giving the store! I watched so many guinea pigs basically become free since they were at the store for so long, it was heartbreaking.
