Received an email from an internal recruiter asking to schedule an interview. As soon as we got on the phone (which I thought was strange for a position in the sales department), I was told the position had been put on hold first thing that morning.
The recruiter told me she liked my resume and asked me to tell her about my background, but didn't ask any specific questions outside of what was already in my resume. I spent hours prepping for the interview based on the interview process information I found on their website, and I wasn't asked a single question related to the homework I invested a lot of time and thought on.
The job post was simply to make it appear to the world that they were hiring; meanwhile, they were still quietly doing layoffs and were on a hiring freeze.
