Pros
You get beginning to end experience with an audit - after a year you'll start getting progressively more responsibility and really taking ownership, but there are still layers of review and mentorship so you don't drown. Great culture - when I was there it was a very young crowd in the VA office and that really contributed to a fun atmosphere - you get your work done, then have fun. You don't need to stay late just to "show face".
Cons
With a small company, sometimes the clients you get aren't very desirable or you underbid to get business and get over your head. It sucked to get on a client that was just always a nightmare and there was no drive from the top to really press them to improve with their organizational habits/ pressure to move the audit forward smoothly.
