In house training is very intense

Strong focus on KPIs and performance targets, Requires frequent promotion of memberships / sign-ups, Sales pressure can be stressful at times, Performance expectations can feel demanding

Expected to do a lot for a role with no commission. There was a big focus on reaching targets and KPIs, which felt meaningless for store assistants, as we don't receive commission or reward for achieving the targets. Depending on the store locations, customers can be extremely difficult and expect medical-level attention, but that's just the nature and conditions of the role.

Larger shops can be very busy and tiring and get the same pay as much smaller shops that get significantly less foot traffic. Can be very physically tiring especially larger shops, with deliveries and refilling stock. KPI is tracked daily, can be hard to get enough people to sign up to member ship ,download the app and leave reviews. Shops with bad KPI lose hours. Can be stressful at times with KPI constantly tracked, I have worked in small shops and the large shops are significantly harder. Little support to progress career.

Lack of diversity. A lack of British values, despite claims to the contrary. Disregarding colleague wellbeing is rife. Expected to work through breaks. Working bank holidays including New Year’s Day.

Sometimes mircro-management on the the work

long hours, not good management everything basically falls apart when manager is on leave. Supervisors do not stand up Infact store colleagues have to do everything

Using very old tech (believe they have just recently updated some of the systems) Low salary

Little actual support though a lot of talk about being supportive. Lone trading . Stores can lurch from crisis to crisis whether stock issues/ tech /staffing / promos. So many tasks / admin that is unnecessary. Burn out happens
