Pros

This is the biggest translation agency in the world, so it can be a great name to put in your CV, especially if you are planning on working in this industry. you can work on many different accounts, and with big names, which is always interesting. They also give real chances to entry-level people, which also means your colleagues are all 20 to 30-something years old. Co-workers are usually young and quite easy to work with and, depending on your team, managers are actually great (at least mine is!) They have flexibility in terms of working hours: do you need to come in late for a medical check-up? no worries! talk to your TL and you will just have to catch up with the hours. Do you overwork on Monday? you can come in later/leave earlier another day.

Cons

TransPerfect can be a good starting point, but it is not good for long-term permanence, and they are not even trying to keep you long-term. Main issues: 1. MONEY: They might think we live in the 1800s since their salaries could have only been acceptable back then. You might think that a 15% inflation rate increase would have been a good reason to adjust salaries, but surprise surprise... THEY DID NOT! Apparently, upper management decided that 15% is not that much and that they pay you more than enough, so you are now living in a city where everything is 15% more expensive (especially rent, which increased by more than that), but you are still earning the same money as before. Are you planning on requesting a salary increase? Well... prepare to WAIT. I requested mine 1 year ago and, you guessed it, I am still waiting. Even once you get the request approved, you shouldn't expect a great improvement: increases are standardized, meaning you will get the same amount of money your colleague got 2 years ago (Again: inflation, who?!). Salary is a recurring problem for TransPerfect, and the morale in my office (and I can bet in the rest of the offices as well) is quite low because of it, so much so that people are currently mass resigning from their positions. This clearly means that the remaining people have to deal with the entire workload. Needless to say, those who are still there are just waiting to find another (better-paid) job, me included. 2. TRAINING: Their training material is completely useless unless you are a project coordinator\manager. Even in that case, training is so poorly made that I had to correct our PMs several times on how to properly open a Jira ticket for Vendor Management (exact same request, exact same mistakes made by different PMs across different offices). As a Vendor Manager, the way I utilize our internal software and database is totally different from PMs, so much so that we have a completely different set of rights and functions on these platforms. you might think that the training department would create tailored guides. Nope! Instead, they tell you to join the same video sessions as PMs, meaning that at the end of it you know nothing about how to do your job and everything about how production does theirs. After completing my new hire training, I remember I took the time to leave this exact same feedback to the trainers. the reply I got was "We think it is important you guys know how other teams work", and completely failed to acknowledge the faults of their way of training. On top of that, if you ask a newly hired PM what a Vendor Manager does, they will most likely look at you weirdly because they don't even know we exist. 3. MANAGEMENT: While my manager is really great, this is not the case for everyone. Depending on what office and what team you end up in, you might have a great manager like mine, or work under a person whose team changes almost completely every year (who knows why!) 4. FLEXIBILITY: This is not standardized. In my case, my team is pretty flexible, but this is not the case for all teams. for example, if you are a PM, depending on what accounts you work on you might have to overwork quite often, without the possibility of catching up on those hours. 5. COMPANY BENEFITS: They are not really there. We get free fruit (frequency? unknown. supposedly twice a week, sometimes once, sometimes not even that).

Pros

The work isn't too tough. The people in the office are skilled and pleasant. There are decent benefits and you can work from home for 2 days.

Cons

The pay is bad. Decent for when you first start but raises are small and infrequent. Bonuses are even smaller and more infrequent. We were fully remote but slowly have been forced back into office for no good reason.
