This company is a joke.
The only reason TransPerfect hit $1B this year is because they exploit their lower level employees. I skipped lunch (an extremely normalized thing to do) and worked 10 hour days most days and rarely even got a "thank you" because the culture is to haze and embarrass new employees so that they crave promotions. The workload was incredibly unsustainable and especially ridiculous when looking at pay vs. workload. This leads me to my second pain point - the pay.
Base salary is absolutely laughable. Not to mention, in a SALES ROLE, you are to earn NO commission until you are promoted. That's right - for 1-2 years, you're expected to grind and get no commission, purely driven by the promise of a promotion where you will get to split commission with your manager. In this economy??? Absolutely laughable company structure.
Hard work is "recognized" at company events which almost all revolve around drinking and everyone acting totally unprofessional. How about instead of funding endless HHs, you put that money toward your employees salaries?
There is little to no diversity within the company - especially in sales positions. How is it that a global language solutions company only has monolingual caucasians representing it on the forefront?
Finally, there is this idea that you have to "earn" the right to WFH while there are no sick or personal days allowed. So when you're sick, your options are to 1) use PTO and stay home or 2) go into the office and spread germs. Often my coworkers opted for option #2.
This company does not care about its people. This greedy company structure is not sustainable and TransPerfect will continue to face high turnover until change is made.
