Pros
Decent level of autonomy with projects Working with translators! Generally they're smart and kind, helpful and generally amazing at what they do. Great for working in linguistics and being part of an international team
Cons
No loyalty to workers, it's the kind of place where an employee will "win" quarterly awards and then as they're quitting you suddenly get an email blast announcement, "Effective immediately, so-and-so is no longer at TransPerfect". Management plays favorites and promotes the wrong people, bullying happens often and seems to be encouraged, lack of recognition, no work-life balance, you put in hours for little respect, you have to ask for raises. When I was there it slowly devolved into a place where they paid very little and expected the best (for offsite translators as well as staffed employees) No free meals or free delivery to recognize long hours, a huge "entertainment" fund for "happy hours" but they aren't fun when you feel uncomfortable around the people Not a great environment for your mental health It was a blessing to move on :=)
