Pros

Never a shortage of work to be done Paid training Solid coworkers

Cons

I started out as a replacement technician, made it through training fine, and eventually got out onto the road. They start you out with around 5 jobs to complete every day, and for some folks, that's alright. However, those 5 jobs quickly turn into 7, and if you aren't prepared, you're screwed. Unfortunately, I was one of those folks who could do 5 jobs in a day, but any more than that was a struggle. I tried to work with management in regard to the situation, but it quickly came down to me either doing 7 jobs a day, or finding a new job. I ended up dropping down to a new position at Safelite, Repair Technician III. I basically do repairs and recalibrate ADAS camera systems at the shop all day. I've been doing this for about 6 months now, and I've watched as the upper management has started to pull the rug out from under all of the regular technicians. It doesn't matter how long these folks have been with the company, everyone's pay is now based on the same metrics. Guys who have been here for 20+ years have been catching demotions for things completely out of their control. Their work isn't bad, but one little number just isn't there, and BOOM. There goes $10/hr off their pay. On top of all that, they have been booking an absolutely INSANE amount of jobs, to the point where we can barely get them all done in a day. Management couldn't seem to care less. All they care about are the numbers. The thing that's going to do it all in, for me at least, are these mandatory 6 day work weeks they're rolling out. I have a life outside of work, and value my time off, and this place dominates most of my life already. I will not be giving up one of my days off to slave away at work being overbooked, and understaffed.

Pros

The fact that they will teach you and train you to install Auto Glass? Cannot answer this truthfully

Cons

I've applied twice to the tech training position. The first time I thought that I may have made an error? The Yellow Brick Rd location had adds for 18 positions available. I applied again fixing what I thought the issue to be. I was again sent an email that they were not moving to the next step with me. This makes ZERO sense. I was just recently a slot tech out of Horseshoe. I also was a tech for a company that handed a few interior pieces for Amtrak.
