Pros
Learned new skills. Pre 2023, good work life balance. Superficially cares about it's employees.
Cons
I can't deal with this any longer. Thanks to this company I am having daily panic attacks. They make a big deal about having a "mental health" day but they are the ones that are constantly destroying the health of their employees. I have not been laid off yet but there are so many great people I know that were. These were great hardworking people that performed vital roles but they are thrown away without a second thought. The people that remain after each round of layoffs get more work piled upon them. In the past few months my workload has more than doubled. I am expected to work with no breaks and preform the workload of multiple employees with no increase in pay. I haven't been able to even take lunch in weeks. I can't say anything though because I don't want to appear like a weak link when the next round of layoffs comes up. While all this is going on I am also dealing with major health issues. I know COBRA is a thing but if I lost my job and my health insurance I don't know how I could possibly get by. My doctors literally tell me that the stress from work is making things worse but not having insurance would be even worse. So I am stuck overextending myself to meet the ever changing whims of a company that doesn't care at all about its employees. I don't know what is going to happen first but something is coming soon; Either I get laid off or I drop dead. I know this is a rant more than anything but perhaps someone will see it. If you are in a similar situation, you are not alone. I know I have been just talking about myself but I have multiple coworkers that are dealing with things like cancer or sick family members while waiting under the constantly hovering guillotine at Nielsen. If anyone in a position of power happens to see this, I hope you are aware of the people you have hurt and the culture you wought.
