I was hired at Grainger for health care services. I applied for health care, was hired for health care, and was trained for health care. i was hired with about 10 other employees. everyone went to health care, but when i sat at my desk, i noticed all of my accounts were in the contractor segment. Grainger completely ignored the fact that they assigned me to a position that i not only did not apply for, but what was trained incorrectly for. they assign you to a mentor as well. my mentor quit the day i was assigned. upon prospecting my accounts, it was brought to my attention several times from several customers that the previous account rep had severely damaged these accounts, i.e. - unauthroized purchases, neglect, etc. these accounts no longer wanted to partner with Grainger. It was my job to handle damage control. i brought these issues to management. i also brought up the fact that there were several closed businesses that were still in my accounts and had their goals attached to them, weighing down my potential to make commission, because you can't sell anything to a closed down business. grainger took this into consideration and asked me to file a report on my plan of action on contact with these accounts, their spend with the company, and why they didn't want to do business with a grainger rep. out of over 60 accounts, they removed 30 accounts. they replaced them with large general contracting accounts that hire out sub contractors to purchase their own materials, leaving little opportunity to grow the accounts. these accounts were labeled low potential low sales by administration. they also kept the accounts that were closed down. i told my manager i wanted a meeting to discuss being moved to the customer segment i originally applied and was trained for. when i got to my meeting, i was told i was negative and the company felt i did not meet company culture. there was no explanation to anything stated above, but more of a scare tactic to try to get me to quit. i continued with my work and tried to grow the accounts as asked through building relationships and delivering value. i held meetings with my manager on my performance and how to make improvements. two weeks later my manager held a meeting with HR to have me fired. their crm and salesforce has serious technical issues that are still being configured. they accused me of falsifying my call record and terminated me on spot within the same day
