Pros

PTO accrual is okay, about 4.5 hours per pay period. Medical claims analysts make average pay for the work they do. Management is okay.

Cons

Repeatedly promised pay raise and promotion once a training class was available, but the start date for this was pushed back over and over. They eventually offered the promotion but without the pay raise, blaming the rest of the company for underperforming, and on a major client for not giving them the business they kept expecting. Things got so rough that one day our entire floor was brought into a surprise meeting and assured by our HR rep with no preamble that we shouldn't worry, our jobs were safe for now! We didn't know they were in danger to begin with. My supervisor and her manager both told me different things when it came to expectations and rewards. Management always seemed like it didn't communicate well with each other. Lots of tension between MCA team and QA department. Created something of a hostile work environment after a while. Management stopped celebrating birthdays after a while-- now every office birthday is celebrated with a potluck, no cake. Equian is either doing tremendously well or is on the verge of collapse, depending on the time of day you ask a manager. If you're okay with working a lot and not getting a raise out of it, this place is okay.

Thanks for your feedback! Equian prides itself as a company that offers competitive wages and benefits. So, we are happy that your comments highlight that we are headed in the right direction! We are also always looking for better ways to reward and recognize our employees, and last year our Golden office did move away from monthly birthday sheet cakes to having events that included afternoon park outings, chili cook-offs, jersey Fridays, a catered holiday brunch, costume and office decorating contests with prizes, and much more. So, while we take all feedback seriously, we hope that as our team grows, so do our rewards. We like to think we’ve taken the “sheet cake” to a higher level, and we are loving it, because we love our team! Please feel free to contact HR if you have any other feedback or suggestions !
