Pros
-Decent benefits (401k matching, tuition reimbursement, certain certs are paid for) -Liked the people I worked with -Used to be very stable employment -Good work-life balance
Cons
-Employment is no longer stable -Health insurance is sub-par (even the highest tier is a fairly high deductible for the premium and the HSA contribution is pathetic) -Single PTO for both vacation and sick, but PTO accrual is painfully slow -Yearly "performance" raises (if your contract allows them) are very low -Recent changes to promotion requirements make upward movement even slower and rarer -Bench period is no longer existent, and it seems they would rather higher from outside than from within
