Like everywhere, the place is full of great employees trying to do their best in a tough environment. The WFH balance isn't too bad but expectations vary greatly depending on your line manager.

Cons

No clear strategy from the Exec. Constantly flip-flopping between strategies. They will communicate one thing and then ask you to work on something that has no alignment. Annual bonuses and payrises are well below industry standard.

- If you are lucky and get great team members/managers, then you may be insulated from some of the below cons for a while - Flexible working arrangements - Work-life balance highly team and manager dependent - Modern and clean office - Good culture within my business area

Cons

- Salary below industry standard - Confusing decision making by upper management - Poor staff morale due to confusing decision making by upper management and outsourcing - Limited career & skill development opportunities, will generally have to self fund most training - 50/50 split between in-office and WFH. Attendance is tracked and a component of performance reviews. - Capgemini

Pay is good. Good people. Work from home.

Cons

Zero transparency. Management pretends to do pulse survey however little to no changes done to address issue, Zero accountability from CEO down to managers. Office politics and you have to pucker your lips to kiss all the managers behind to be able to go places

Working under the owner manager model has been quite good, it's very relaxed and you deal with everything directly with the owner in branch. However owner manager model is being discontinued as of March 2025, BOQ will be fully corporate owned, so everything will change, who knows if postively or negatively, I'd guess the later.

Cons

Super outdated systems & tech, makes your job 3-4x slower than working in the big 4. BOQ doesn't even have osko. Lack of training and procedures, everyone sort of fumbles their way through tasks and corrects issues as they get found. Theres no proper training and systems/procedures.
