about this team
The APAC Product Creation team is based in Hong Kong LLO office. We are responsible for the APAC product management from initial concepting, through design, development, costing and approval of production. This product is across multiple calendars and working with teams across the business.
The team includes Pattern Engineers, Technical Developers, and Designers. This team creates and commercializes premium product ensuring it is performing for the intended end-use through garment fit and construction and is meeting the required quality and costs through lab and wear-testing in accordance with our standards. The team goals are Best Product / Best Cost delivered at the right time.
We are strong communicators who develop their cross functional relationships. This is a team of high performers who are striven to develop both personally and professionally, practicing open feedback in a trusting space. a day in the life
- Organize and prioritize daily workload of assigned product
- Responsible for fit and construction approval from 1st proto to PP sample
- Develop a close working relationship with APAC Designers to realize their design vision
- Develop complete patterns & markers to achieve Design aesthetic, fit, and construction
- Identify, adjust, and correct fit issues that require pattern corrections
- Effectively communicate and advise APAC teams and vendors on pattern construction
- Create and maintain online library of approved patterns and nests to ensure fit consistency
- Collaborate with factories to ensure their accurate use of patterns both for sampling and production
- Check pattern nests for pattern accuracy and correct grading
- Collaborate with APAC teams to ensure costing excellence
- Participate in fittings with APAC product creation team to realize design, vision, best fit/cost/make
- Mentor the TD team on pattern, fit and grading as required
- 3D image making and correction
qualifications
- Patternmaking Degree
- 5 - 8 years minimum industry experience in pattern making (preferably development through production)
- Understanding of fit, balance, garment construction, and fabric reaction
- Strong technical knowledge of performance product and fit (materials/fabric, construction, and body movement)
- Strong team player/collaborator, able to work cross-functionally
- Knowledge of product creation calendar timelines and able to work against deadlines
- Expert in Gerber pattern making, checking nests and markers
- Proficiency in MS office (Excel/Word/Outlook), Adobe Illustrator, PLM software
- 3D software experience (CLO, Browzwear) is an asset but not essential
- Experience in working with manufacturers across Asia
- Fit Expertise to achieve Best Product and Best Cost
- Attention to detail, initiative, organization, strong verbal & written communication skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of fabric, construction, draping
- Skilled at technical communication with vendors via pattern diagrams & fit photos
- Expert knowledge of Pattern Grading
- Comprehension of end-to-end product life cycle
- Self-motivated, strong sense of urgency, collaborative mindset
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast paced, cross functional team environment
- Excellent time management, organizational & problem-solving skills
- Curiosity for change & learning, capable of managing ambiguity
- Participate in fit sessions for all products as required
