I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Yelp in May 2023
Interview
The recruiter reached out and scheduled a phone interview. It is a very easy level leetcode problem using linked list. The interviewer was nice but ended up revealing some very problematic things about the company(terrible work culture and management) and that they are leaving. Onsite were 4 rounds - dsa, lld, hld and behavioral. All rounds were very easy. No preparation required, just basics. The behavioral round had very standard questions and was a short call. Cleared all rounds and got an offer but have recently heard some very problematic things about Yelp about their treatment to the employees. Tried clarifying with the recruiter who appeared to be scared and went in denial mode. The offer involved employee benefits but the company is not working on any exciting tech project as per the discussion with hiring manager. Weighed pros and cons. Rejected based on the negative reviews about work culture and a better offer.
