Phone, then Skype, then they select. Just be calm and speak attractively (no uhms, ehhh, err, etc). They want to know you have a good "phone voice" because the ability to speak well can't really be taught in their 1 month training. About the skype interviews, be a quick thinker. If they give you a scenario, just start blabbing immediately and improvise as you go along.

Question 1
The guy in a role play is being unrealistically obstinate / stupid in an attempt to make you dig deep and maintain your sales speech. For example. the guy is like "I wanna cancel Yelp because I get more traffic from newspaper ads. I'm doing fine TYVM with the 2 fliers I put up"
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Yelp (Austin, TX) in May 2026
Interview
The interview process was pleasant from start to finish. It included a recruiter phone screen, a video call with the sales manager, a role play exercise, and the opportunity to implement the manager’s feedback.

Question 1
One question they asked during my interview was what specifically about the role made me feel it was a strong fit for my background and experience.
The interview process with Yelp was a very organized experience. From the first email after I put in my application, to the offer extension call, I always felt well informed and included.
It was a one time interview over video call with a pre call before. One on one with a training manager. Pretty simple not too hard at all. Lasted 30 minutes with questions and role plays.
