I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at United Airlines (Houston, TX) in Jul 2022
Interview
It was a weird process. It took 6 months to hear back after my video interview, when they said it would take 5-7 business days. After that, it was a super fast turnaround to go to the face to face. The group activity was fun! I loved the recruiters that were flight attendants! The recruiters that were purely HR…eh. Many had only been there a few months. It makes sense why so many people (customers and more seasoned flight attendants) complain about the new ones. I got all six situational questions with a demand of STAR format. Now, I know that format is a big thing in the airline industry interviews. However, there are many good people that deserve a spot at United (and other legacy airlines too) that have a hard time with STAR that get turned down because you’re having to overthink your answers in format, rather than being yourself and having an informational conversation with the interviewer. That’s the best way to get to know someone, especially when they continuously talk about making sure to be yourself. Sorry, but so many fake people are sliding through the cracks and getting offers just because they’re good at faking their answers this way. It also seems like certain people are getting MUCH easier questions than others (i.e. “why do you want to be a flight attendant?”, “why United?”). I also didn’t care for the constant typing away at the computer, instead of getting to know me. The recruiter was nice, don’t get me wrong. Everything was just so sterile and impersonal to the point where I was super uncomfortable. I got the walk to the elevator after my one and one and a TBNT a week later. Said I can reapply in 90 days, but I’m honestly so traumatized by this experience, I don’t think I want to reapply. It’s a shame because United is such a great company with good people, but this process needs to change. They’re going to end up with a bunch of fake lazy people who only care about the “glamour” of the lifestyle.

I applied online. I interviewed at United Airlines (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
First, you have to apply it and submit your application on United website when the flight attendant opposition is opening.
Then, you will get an assessment, kinda like a personality test.
Second, you will be invited to a virtual interview. basically, you need to answer 8 questions and record your answers. You have 3 attempts to record it.
Completed the assessment and attended the optional Q&A teams meeting , I am now awaiting the virtual face to face . It’s been almost a month of waiting however in the Q&A meeting they mentioned that it can take some time possibly towards the end of summer .
