This month we celebrate the ten-year anniversary of Stephen Jaquess. Stephen pursues excellence with unbridled passion, whether working on client matters, on-campus recruiting, or in any other way he can make a difference. When faced with the unknown, Stephen immerses himself in the subject matter, mastering it and becoming an expert for clients and colleagues alike. Under Stephen’s leadership, our on-campus recruiting has also grown dramatically in both scope and depth, producing at least seven stellar analyst classes. Thank you, Stephen, for your dedication over these past ten years!
The Plano and Houston teams recently came together to celebrate BVA’s 50th anniversary at the Rangers vs Astros game. It was an evening of good company, exciting plays, and great memories. We helped stock shelves and organize supplies in preparation for the upcoming teacher shopping events. These events provide teachers with necessary classroom materials for the new school year. BVA’s Todd Fries, together with Roger Grabowski, authored a detailed case study illustrating the development of the cost of capital in the context of a potential acquisition of a successful closely held company by a private equity investor. It was recently published in Cases in Financial Management: Applications for Financial Analysis, a treatise illustrating advanced applications in financial management and market principles designed for use by both academics and practitioners. In his final year co-chairing the AICPA’s Damages Task Force, Alex Walther continues to serve the organization by being appointed to the Forensic Litigation Services (FLS) Conference Committee. The FLS Conference Committee supports the AICPA by providing technical and educational guidance to CPAs in public practice or in the private sector who provide or seek to provide forensic accounting services.
