Pros

• Location in Downtown Tacoma • Great Views from the building

Cons

Lack of leadership from departments to executive level • Executive level very disconnected from worker bee employees. • Mid level managers and directors are overpaid with no accountability • Majority of work done by lower level employees with very little guidance • Lots of initiatives started by leadership are not ever trickled down to lower levels  resulting in wasted efforts and funds on half baked initiatives Lack of updated or integrated technology • Technology is outdated and hard to use/give customers what they want • Makes work done with little training and guidance more difficult Unclear Roles • Training is limited and role clarity is not laid out well • Lots of people doing double duties • Right arm does not know what left arm does • No accountability, so allowed to continue • Lack of clarity at corporate and between field and corporate Layoffs and Cost Cutting • Several layoffs and cost cuts in the last few years while bonuses for high level employees continue, internal conferences, and trips to Cancun are still in action. • Hard to see the worker bees get cut when those in power seem to not have a grip on spending and at the same time put more pressure on the few worker bees left. Lack of Growth • There is little to no career opportunity at TrueBlue • A lot of promises are made to a lot of folks, but very little is followed through on

Pros

Simply, it's a resume builder for someone who would like to have the word "Recruiter" or some form of it on their resume - not for the actual experience, but for the word to be legally allowable on one's resume

Cons

Some of the worst, most unprofessional, clueless, and if I'm being blunt, dumbest group of leaders ever put in such positions. No other company would put these individuals in similar positions within their organizations, which probably explains why they are lifers with TrueBlue - they couldn't get a job anywhere else. I can count on my hand what true leaders are within TrueBlue that actually are in leadership roles. Constantly pushing Flavor of the Week type initiatives that never go anywhere and are just a way of patting each other on the back for a job well done in the moment. Culture is fear-based and includes a constant stream of emotionally abusive and manipulation. Primary motivations focus on short-term results instead of quality, long-term success. All about warm bodies instead of skilled professionals in respective trades.

A Tragic Disconnect!

Pros

On Thursday, November 9, 2017 some 80 people were laid off from TrueBlue, Inc. dba PeopleReady (formerly LaborReady) including the staffing brands of CLP, Spartan and others. It was a very sad day for those eliminated and for the company as a whole. With unemployment at a national low, no shortage of qualified accounts and the staffing industry recording record growth, it's hard to understand what went wrong. In my opinion, the restructure that took place over the past year and a half came too top heavy and field directives didn't match up. While corporate personnel wanted to minimize competition among branches, the compensation structure was set up to encourage divisions among branches, markets and co-workers. It was a losing proposition and never found acceptance among the ranks. I hope the company will take some time to absorb the enormity of the losses and reflect on what could have been done differently. In the meantime, my heart goes out to all. BE OPTIMISTIC. BE PASSIONATE. BE ACCOUNTABLE. BE RESPECTFUL. BE TRUE.
