Pros

Lovely advisors who deserve better

Cons

Oak tree is a terrible place to work. Avoid at all costs. All their staff are leaving due to not having workers right. Training is appalling- they sit on their phones all day. They don't care for training then hey sack you when you don't know what you are doing due to lack of training

Pros

I came to Oak Tree looking for a 'stop-gap' following redundancy from a previous role in summer 2020. It's an easy, script-based job and you're expected to make around 70 calls a day (as I recall), which is pretty standard in low level sales roles. You're certainly not expected to take work home with you. Bosses are decent and there are always good little challenges going on, the salary expectations of 24-28k are also accurate.

Cons

I only lasted 5 weeks at Oak Tree, for the following reason; It targets the vulnerable. I've worked in numerous sales roles and the most important thing is that you believe in the product. Oak Tree sell overpriced, sub quality furniture and as such I simply could not carry out this job in good faith. The script you use specifically asks you to lie, with both office and field agents expected to pressure the elderly. I legitimately struggled to sleep some nights. If you have no problem with this, then Oak Tree is a good place to earn a bit of money in an informal office. On another note, though I think this was a case of crossed wires, I once had a seizure before work. If you have/know someone who has seizures, you will be aware of the confusion that follows a seizure. I tried calling my boss, and called a receptionist to explain what had happened. A few hours later I had a slightly snarky call from one of my bosses, and even having explained the seizure they were not particularly sympathetic.
