Pros

You get rewarded for being good at politics and not recruitment. So if you’re bad at sales you still have a chance

Cons

Worst commission scheme in the industry Miserable office culture Leadership are all politicians and not salesman They under pay salary and commission. Owned by a VC so profit is everything

Pros

They are considerate when onboarding and can be quite supportive when you first start your employment. Intense work means you learn a lot.

Cons

They don’t have enough resources, and expect you to pick up other’s slack when it’s much above your pay grade. You don’t even get appreciation for it, and you get pushed out if you ask for appreciation or the pay you deserve. I saw colleagues treated awfully, and heard derogatory language, from management (!) more than once.

Pros

The role allowed me to draw on a wide skill set & gave me the opportunity to build strong, professional relationships with clients. I was trusted to manage my workload independently, which offered a good degree of flexibility day to day. Our small team worked very well together — we supported each other consistently, & there was a genuine sense of camaraderie within our office. I learned a great deal during my time here, particularly around self-management, communication, & client care.

Cons

Despite progressing from administrator to HR advisor, I remained on the same base salary of minimum wage for the entire 5½ years I worked there. There was no formal training at any point, and I was expected to take on high-level tasks far beyond my role or pay grade. As we were based in a satellite office, we were often overlooked — it felt as though only head office staff were considered “real” employees. Interaction with senior management was rare, and when it did occur, it was often critical, last-minute, & lacked any sense of support or collaboration. Work carried out by our team was frequently claimed as management’s own, & requests for recognition, training, or pay adjustments were repeatedly declined. There was no clear route for progression, which ultimately led to my decision to move on.
