Pros

None it’s terrible avoid at all costs

Cons

Where to begin. No doubt they’ll get this one removed too along with all the other negative ones. Head ofs, managers and team leaders are only out for themselves and couldn’t care less about us along with a CEO and her overpaid friends and relations who’d rather turn up in their flash cars bragging about where they’re going on holiday next instead of looking after us. Forcing staff to sign up for government funded qualifications all at once again and again to bolster their coffers for what they call “stop the bus” which is happening now again to con even more money and hounding people if they haven’t signed up in time to name and shame them. The head ofs and managers forcing staff to commit fraud on their behalf and people being scared to say no as it would jeopardise their jobs so got them to pretend they are clients not associated with the company and to hide their uniforms when OFSTED visits to fraudulently convince them they were learners from other companies and were happy with the training and service after they had been coached on what to tell them. FRAUD!!! Blackmailed and forced into completing supposedly anonymous surveys then getting shown up as individuals when the results had came back unless they were favourable. Get on the wrong side of the so called bosses and you’re sacked so everyone is scared to speak up and you don’t dare take any time off if you’re ill or try to speak up when something is wrong you’ll be singled out. Bullying. This is widespread and goes all the way up to the CEO. They’re only interested in self promotion and will throw everyone to the wolves to promote themselves even when our caseloads are unmanageable. Don’t even try to put the learners first or say anything you know is wrong it’s all about the money and only the money. If you crawl round the CEO who has been given an OBE for reasons we fail to understand you’ll progress even if you’re useless and have been carried by the staff under you as you take credit for all their hard work. Management or more the complete lack of it. They hire people with no relevant experience but their face fits as it’s a girls club but they are good at shouting at you or threatening to get rid of you and telling the CEO what she wants to hear. Well when she’s actually in the country instead of posting instagram photos of her latest holiday in her villa or bragging about the latest sports car she’s bought. Directors, managers and team leaders don’t have a clue what we do they just increase the targets with no thought on how it will affect us and the learners they’re just interested in protecting their over inflated wage. Pressure piled on pressure it’s not about the learners anymore it’s about how much money they can con out of the government so they’d rather show you up to make an example of you instead of helping or listening so the caseloads are unmanageable. Lazy corrupt staff who spend the day crawling around management and bullying and backstabbing each other instead of doing their jobs which makes ours harder as we have to take up the slack just so they can get away with doing nothing and worm their way up the ladder. Can’t wait to find another job as I thought it might get better and some of us don’t want to let the learners down but it’s gotten worse I’ve never known a company run as fraudulently and with a complete lack of care to their staff and learners.

We are always keen to take feedback onboard at Learning Curve Group (LCG), both good and bad, and will always work towards making LCG a fantastic place to work. You have highlighted a quite a few issues here however, and although we appreciate everyone’s experience maybe different, there are some we’d like to address: “Removing Glassdoor reviews” - we don’t control Glassdoor reviews and are unable to remove them – the Glassdoor community guidelines outline what can / cannot be done by businesses on the platform. “It’s all about the money” – there are a number of references to the company’s focus on revenue, however, you will know as a current staff member that a business-wide salary review has just been completed and rolled out. This has increased all bottom line salaries to the real living wage and introduced salary bands for all roles, which has been a significant investment (in excess of £1/2 million p.a.). The initiative was fully supported by the CEO and wider board members as our commitment to supporting colleagues. “Surveys” - In relation to our surveys, each year we take part in both the Investors in People and Best Companies surveys. Results this year were excellent and LCG achieved gold status for IIP and the organisation features on three lists for Best Companies. The surveys are completely anonymous – meaning we are unable to see any individual’s contribution. The only level of detail we are able to see is team survey results to help us identify areas for improvement. To ensure the data we get is accurate we strongly encourage people to complete the surveys by offering an early finish for those that do – how individuals then complete the survey is absolutely up to them. From these surveys we have been listed as the 37th best company to work for in the UK in addition to securing IIP gold. We received these listings because of what our Purple People said about us. “Bullying and Fraud” – these are very serious allegations and ones that we take very seriously. We urge you to contact our Director of People, Louise Clough (louise.clough@learningcurvegroup.co.uk) to raise these concerns so they can be addressed. Alternatively we have Whistle blowing policy which you can refer to via our Purple People system.

Pros

None I can think of

Cons

There are many reviews appearing and I felt I should share my experience. The other reviews are correct, one recent one mentioned Fraud, I am not sure it is but stop the bus is yet again being pushed onto staff. I was in a meeting today and informed we all must do the courses, the pressure is ridiculous, management are bullies and look out for themselves at all times, those up above if you read this do something about it before you end up in court!! Oh you already have by the look of tribunals that have been withdrawn at the end. There is no let up, if you are black or gay or in fact anything outside of what they say is the "ordinary " Watch your back!! HR are the worst I have ever come across and do not give a damn as long as they get paid. People are in a mental health state working at this company. I just need to find a job and I am out of here! I have read the terms and conditions and this is absolutley true. Please dont take this off. HR if you are listening perhaps you shouold do a questionairre to see how many people are on antidepressants!!!

Thank you for your review. We value all kinds of feedback but wanted to address some of your points: “Deleting Reviews” – We are unable to delete Glassdoor reviews. These are controlled only by Glassdoor who will occasionally step in and remove reviews that breach community guidelines. “Stop the Bus” – The ‘Stop the Bus’ initiative was launched to support CPD within the organisation. As a training provider, we have access to a wide range of accredited and funded qualifications for individuals and it is essential our staff maintain high levels of knowledge in areas such as mental health and safeguarding to ensure we are giving the best support we can to both colleagues and our learners. “Tribunals”: In relation to your comment about tribunals, we live in a democracy and the tribunal courts are there for all to use. We would hope that staff raise their concerns through our internal processes in the first instance, but we accept that we cannot resolve every matter to their satisfaction. However, we don’t have control over claimant’s withdrawals and individuals will do this for several different reasons on their own merit “Equality and Diversity” –There is no such thing as ordinary at LCG – we are diverse organisation and proudly buck the trends when it comes to women in leadership, are a disability confident leader, practice fair recruitment processes in addition to being involved in a range of initiatives and covenants. We continuously work to ensure that people of all backgrounds and characteristics feel welcomed at Learning Curve Group and feel we have a culture that allows this. I would encourage anyone who feels that they may have encountered any discrimination to raise it, as this is something that we take very seriously. “Wellbeing” – One of the key ways in which we track our employee wellbeing is through surveying, something we do throughout the year. Our most recent Best Companies and IIP surveys, showed us that wellbeing at work was one of our most celebrated and improved areas. However we are aware that mental health is very personal, and if not everyone shares the consensus then its important that line managers and the HR team are made aware to ensure that the right support can be offered. If you would like to raise any concerns we strongly urge you to get in touch with your dedicate people and culture partner. Alternatively, you can contact the Director of People, Louise Clough if you’d like to discuss your wider comments further.

Pros

Holiday allowance, little gifts at easter and Christmas

Cons

Apart from the little perks as above I’m afraid to say this organisation requires serious filtering of its management from the ground up! I was lied to at interview and your certainly not treated the same as everyone else that’s for sure!!! You soon are victimised and put in your place if your face doesn’t fit. If I was the CEO I would be arranging meetings with the ground workers (not managers) and getting the real stories relayed as to what’s happening. Managers really cover there backs and it’s all on the tutors. I’ve never worked for a company that can not present information with clarity and be consistent with information, talk about being confused. Terrible infrastructure and far too many systems and processes to work out in which you loose track of what’s going on or how to use them. Not a caring company if you have endured mental health issues or have suffered bereavement. No support installed a just “get on with it” approach I’m appalled at the big shout outs this company gives when the heads of departments clearly are incapable of leading there teams and embedding equal opportunities. If your studying good luck with trying to gain valuable experience within another department as you won’t get it - I was knocked back time and time again and the 1-2-1s are pointless as lack of support shows that the company can not provide the correct resources, information or staff to appropriately train and support you to deliver. Partnerships with big companies tarnished and damaged, on my first day with an employee I was bombarded with negative comments and attitude as to the damage that had previously been caused - left in meetings unattended by management or KADS that had arranged these in the first place to discuss concerns over learners. Lied to on my very first day and the caseload that I received. These managers tend to move up the ladder very quickly within the business and the ones trying to be loyal and truthful either get no where or end up leaving!!! There’s so much more I wish to put on here but please don’t be a fool by seeing the awards that this organisation has won because the only award they deserve is “biggest let down” I needed to consult my own GP after leaving due to feeling burnt out and literally depressed!

We are saddened to read your review as it doesn’t align with our culture or who we are as a business and wanted to take the time to respond to some of your points as feel some of them are misguided. Meeting with ground workers - Our senior leadership team are and always have been incredibly accessible. In the apprenticeships team alone, the Director of Apprenticeships holds monthly sessions with new starters. In addition, she has held 9 virtual catch ups with coaches since March. During these sessions, coaches are also offered opportunities for 121 discussions. Beyond this, the CEO holds KIT meetings with staff, specifically non-managers, so everybody feels like they have the option to ask question and provide feedback. Systems and Processes – We currently undergoing a digital transformation project across the whole business. As you worked in apps, you may be referring to your e-portfolio systems where we are currently working across two as we phase one out. There is an ongoing review of these. Awards – The awards we have proudly won in relation to employee engagement have been awarded to us because of what our amazing Purple People said about us. All of the surveys / accolades we opt for in relation our workplace is done so via external providers so allow complete anonymity for our staff to provide their feedback. Its from this feedback that we have won the awards and purely based upon what our staff have said about us. Staff Welfare & Mental Health – although we appreciate mental health is a personal journey to all us all, Staff wellbeing is something we take incredibly serious at LCG. In 2021 we appointed a Head of Happy people whose responsibility is to lead on staff engagement and welfare activities at a senior level. In addition to extensive and mandatory CPD for managers, we also introduce additional days leave for staff to volunteer work which is proven to promote mental wellbeing. In relation to your comments regarding your manager and lack of support in 1:1’s, we have completed a review of the regularity of 1:1’s in the apprenticeship team. Although we can see these are taking place monthly, we would be keen if you could reach out to our Head of people, Beth Carpenter, to provide more information on the content of these. This will help us identify if and when a manager may need additional coaching or training. Alternatively, if you’d like to discuss any of these points further with the Apprenticeship director, please contact Nicole Bewley, on Nicole.Bewley@Learningcurvegroup.co.uk.
