Pros

Real skill and commitment from colleagues, excellent department managers and team leaders, great social purpose, huge amount of potential, good annual leave.

Cons

Poor executive-level management and a lack of 'doing' resourse, exacerbated by misplaced focus on merger growth rather than stabilising the existing operations. Such a shame as the organisation has great potential.

Pros

Leaving this place was a massive pro! Work lads and a handful of office staff were great to work with.

Cons

Absolutely everything. Flip side to work colleagues? Even some of the trades lads would shop you to the managers for a pat on the head. Back stabbing culture. Most toxic bully culture I've ever encountered. Managers are vile and bully just for kicks. Utter incompetence from the highest levels.

Housing Plus - or is Minus more appropriate!

Pros

Colleagues are great, although leaving where possible. It was close to home but now moving to Telford which will make travelling for both Stafford and shrewsbury employees longer - although the 'Bermuda Triangle effect' will be resolved, where senior management 'travelling' between both offices currently disappear!

Cons

The merger was successful ... in inflating senior managers ego (and no doubt their salaries!), but not much thought has been given to staff who are concerned for their futures. The bullying culture led by senior management in finance has not disappeared and staff now don't have a confidential ear to go to with their issues.

Thank you for your comments; it’s important for us to collect as much feedback as possible in order to understand what works and what doesn’t. The business is a much larger one since merger and there have been restructures in teams and changes to our ways of working. During this transition, not everyone has felt able to stay with us and we wish all those who have moved on well. Moving to Telford is a decision that was taken early on in the merger process with the aim of joining central teams together so that they can work collaboratively in a single location to achieve our goals. For some colleagues we know that this means the journey to work will be a longer one while others will reduce their travel time but the HR team and managers are doing everything they can to ensure a smooth transition and will continue to listen to colleague’s concerns. We are concerned about your comments regarding bulling and take this very seriously. We would urge you to discuss this with your manager, director or a member of the HR team. Your complaint will be properly investigated and dealt with as a priority.
