      One of the better places I've worked

      Pros

      Let me start by saying that I've worked in a number of different companies at this point in my career. None are perfect and Equi is no exception. That being said, it's one of the better places I've worked for three reasons: 1) Good people (including leadership, despite what some of these reviews say) 2) Interesting work 3) Flexible hybrid culture

      Cons

      I think the founders could do a better job of hiring. They tend to bring on the wrong people and then we all suffer. For example, we had a circle of drama queens that included the former leaders of Marketing and HR, and they went from loving the founders to absolutely hating them. They made a sport out of badmouthing the founders and it really degraded the culture for all of us. I wanted to focus on doing good work and working with good people, but this created a massive distraction that I didn't enjoy.

We've since strengthened our hiring process and are quicker to recognize when someone isn't the right fit.       Startup for sure, but good people

      Pros

      - I feel respected in my domain - Most (see cons) of my teammates are great people and strong in their domains - We get to move fast - When leadership respects you; you receive a lot of autonomy - I have a lot of autonomy

      Cons

      - We had some really toxic individuals on the team in 2023 and it got in the way of enjoying my work. They try to blame leadership for everything, but refuse to look in the mirror. - Changes in priorities make it difficult to know how to best prioritize my time
