Pros
Good ENTRY level position for someone wanting to get into medical device sales.
Cons
The compensation for this role does not align with the requirement of a bachelor’s degree. Reimbursement for gas and office lunches was frequently delayed and inconsistent. The role involves working with multiple territory managers, which often led to conflicting direction and a lack of respect for the position. Despite meeting performance expectations, there was excessive oversight. In under a year, I had five ride-alongs, which felt unnecessary and more like micromanagement than support. Leadership, particularly at the regional level, appeared cliquish. During training, senior leadership made little effort to engage with new hires, even in informal settings. Favoritism was evident, and those not perceived as “favorites” experienced increased scrutiny and difficulty. Overall, unless you are newly graduated and looking strictly for a short-term stepping stone, I would not recommend this position.
