Wells Fargo: Someday, You'll Move Up... Someday. - Bank Teller Wells Fargo Employee Review

Pros

The banking and loan options for employees are really good. There were several good options for medical care, as well as optional dental and vision coverage. Also, the company has pretty advanced technologies for managing customer accounts and identification, making a teller job easier than many other places. However, this makes many elderly customers uneasy, causing complaints. This will probably be the case in many customer-service jobs though.

Cons

The management team I had was very passive and lacking in ways to motivate their employees. Giving away prizes (e.g. baseball tickets) is great, but when management gives you insanely unrealistic goals, who cares? The training was extensive, but many employees, myself included, get thrown to the wolves, waiting months before attending a teller class. This is a bank, where people manage money, especially cash. Training should be the number one priority upon hiring a teller. This is NOT always the case at Wells Fargo.

Pros

Benefits (but cost creeping up and coverage creeping down each year), Good Morale Both Management and Coworkers, and Honestly a Great Company.

Cons

Cross Selling is the only focus now, firing employees who are great at their job in every area that should matter but if the cross selling results are not meeting the ever ridiculous quota (which continues to rise) than you may not have a job next month. Expectation for customers to say yes to cross selling, leaving you with no real control of your job security. Stress!
