Okay - Senior Data Scientist USAA Employee Review

Not much growth opportunity, siloed role so I didn't get to learn much, tech moves slowly here because of all of the security and compliance. The hierarchical structure prevents lower level employees from making meaningful contributions. There is a bottleneck at the architect level that prevents fully capable individual contributors from building meaningful applications. I have a PhD in my field, but because I didn't know the right people I never got to prove my worth. I've done more in 2 months at my new company compared to four years at USAA. This company is significantly behind on tech, and it will continue to be that way with how conservative it is.
