Pros
Excellent benefits, many opportunities to change positions or move up in rank
Cons
Firstly, you need to be able to give you any personal life to work here salaried. Don't expect to be able to attend major family events even if they are planned out in advance because a last-minute task may need to be done immediately even though in actuality it could wait. Long hours and the pay does not reflect the hours you actually put in. Little to no recognition for work well done but extreme criticism for even small errors. New ideas are overlooked and pushed to the side. Most managers will only follow corporate direction even if given data supporting a better idea or method. Opinions and ideas of hourly workers are not considered even though they have first-hand knowledge about how everything is working or not working. Not being respected or accepted in the field as I am female. Many managers (especially those older and male) treated me as a child and not as the accomplished engineer I am. I could keep going but basically, your life priorities are 1. UPS 2. UPS 3. Whatever else is important to you
