Pros

Benefits are great. Even after changing them, they are still some of the best offered by any employer. Most co-workers are like family. Night hours permit time for doing things during the day. Pay is pretty good.

Cons

Some managers are clueless about how to manage their people. They tell you to do something that you are in the process of doing already. Some co-workers are extremely childish and set out to make others miserable. Enforcement of "Zero Tolerance" policies are not very good. Zero tolerance means no tolerance, not a slap on the hand and being told not to do it again. Tuition reimbursement program was dropped for all but part time employees. Benefits were downgraded, so they are only give to new hires after one year.

Pros

THE DRIVERS! they were so nice. Not afraid to give advice, I really liked the drivers, the only ones I had contact with. All were good at their job, etc

Cons

Cold. So this may be only part of the country, but omg, I would have to get paid $100 an hour to work basically your whole shift in 30 or below weather. Before calling me wuss, ask if your winter experience is segments of running to warm place to warm place or hrs in the cold.

Pros

The pay is excellent .health care is 100 % paid with 100 %coverage...with exception to eye and dental which is about 70%..coverage...pension is outstanding..full package with wages and benefits is worth 130,000 yearly..without a college education I am grateful for the standard of living UPS HAS AFFORDED ME AND MY FAMILY!...and with 27 years of service I now get 6 weeks vacation with 8 sick days..and 9 paid holidays...we work hard like many people in the work force but we are well compensated!.

Cons

The only con is while your children are young you give up a lot of family time..I never got to watch my kids play sports and missed a lot of their growing years...the job can be hard on your home life but if you can make it through those years you and your family will enjoy the financial freedom that UPS provides...and now I look forward to a prosperous retirement!...so hang in there all you young drivers...
