Pros

i work as a Part-Time Sup out of the Seattle Hub. I'd say how long i've worked there, but it would single me out as turn-over for even my level of management is not far off from part-time hourlys. We are expected to work somewhere in the neighborhood of 25 to 27.5 hours per week. Anything above that is an hourly calulation based on your monthly salary, it comes out to be straight time if one were paid hourly. Bonuses were taken away as of this year and spread out as weekly pay. As a PT sup, we also get tuition assistance. It comes out to $4k per year which is $1k more than PT hourly. Promotions are possible and no longer require a 4 year degree within management.

Cons

A lot of stress comes with being a manager of UPS. The union is very unforgiving when it comes to grievences. Upper management typically has horrible plans for increasing production or decreasing labor. Upper management rarely seeks advice from hourlys or lower management staff on best practices. The technology used (aside from bluetooth scanners) is laughable. I often have to use a 15 year old computer with an even older 3rd party software to complete some of my tasks. To reboot the program takes half an hour minimum. it doesn't make sense when I could go to a garage sale and pick up a new(er) computer that would run over 3x as fast for less than the cost of a grievence.

Pros

THE DRIVERS! they were so nice. Not afraid to give advice, I really liked the drivers, the only ones I had contact with. All were good at their job, etc

Cons

Cold. So this may be only part of the country, but omg, I would have to get paid $100 an hour to work basically your whole shift in 30 or below weather. Before calling me wuss, ask if your winter experience is segments of running to warm place to warm place or hrs in the cold.

Pros

The pay is excellent .health care is 100 % paid with 100 %coverage...with exception to eye and dental which is about 70%..coverage...pension is outstanding..full package with wages and benefits is worth 130,000 yearly..without a college education I am grateful for the standard of living UPS HAS AFFORDED ME AND MY FAMILY!...and with 27 years of service I now get 6 weeks vacation with 8 sick days..and 9 paid holidays...we work hard like many people in the work force but we are well compensated!.

Cons

The only con is while your children are young you give up a lot of family time..I never got to watch my kids play sports and missed a lot of their growing years...the job can be hard on your home life but if you can make it through those years you and your family will enjoy the financial freedom that UPS provides...and now I look forward to a prosperous retirement!...so hang in there all you young drivers...
