Pros
Unlimited PTO and Cheap Cobra.
Cons
Arrogant, toxic, and unqualified leadership that operate as dictators under the guise of “high standards”. This company claims to promote DEI, but have no idea the meaning of any of those words. There is no diversity, equity, or inclusion from my perspective. Sit down. Shut up. Be under 40. That’s their unofficial motto. No asking questions. Everyone has the right to unilaterally remove themselves from a hostile situation, even if the offender’s title means they are a manager. Unfortunately, Toast does not respect that right. I am proof that documented high performers with nothing but positive feedback from management and peers will be eliminated if they fail to fall in line and drink the burnt orange kool-aid. The entire experience was a con from a misleading recruiting process, the poor “leadership” of the executive and senior executive on power trips, to other leaders who see the issues, agree in private about the issues, and refuse to speak up. The disrespect of these “leaders” is absolutely astounding. A senior “leader” who doesn’t speak to their team, is consistently late for meetings, no shows meetings, and cancels meetings last minute is a disrespectful and unqualified “leader”. I can sleep at night knowing I have a decades long career with nothing but positive feedback about my respectfulness and professionalism, and know that I conducted myself in the same manner at Toast. Read the other reviews and you’ll see a theme. The CEO seems to be siloed and either has no idea or doesn’t care about morale. There’s zero opportunity to anonymously provide feedback and I am proof that the feedback that is provided with a name behind it ends poorly. Read the Reddit thread another reviewer mention. Happy to have gone gluten free and be done with this stale company. My only regret is not trusting my bubbling gut and avoiding gluten altogether.
