Pros

I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of owning my own business. This was my first experience in the retail field, but my most rewarding positions have been in the Accounting field.

Cons

It's hard to list the cons of owning your own business. While it could be a challenge especially during the holiday seasons, I really enjoyed the fast pace that it entailed.

Pros

I've worked at two Fortune 500 companies as an entry-level employee at one of their store locations. Kroger and Walgreens. I was a bagger at one and a cashier at the other. I also did a temp job selling fireworks in the summer of 2012. This is by far my favorite job. - Free food. - Free drink. - Amazing management. - Attractive waitresses. - Perfect training ground for restaurants with a higher volume. - Perfect slow to moderate pace so you can learn the ropes of working in a restaurant. - Everyone's nice, patient, interesting, and considerate. - They don't start you off at minimum wage. - Management did not require me to have previous experience as a dishwasher. - No company politics. - Ridiculously open with scheduling. I can take a day off no problem. No limits either. - I've been late twice due to rush hour and both times he looked at me like I was crazy for apologizing. - You work alone for most of the time (I call it a "pro", but this is subjective).

Cons

- Depending on which Chef/Kitchen Manager you get for a shift, you're stuck with either Classic Rock or Top 40 Club Music from the radio for hours and hours. But after they leave around midnight, you can choose whatever station you want. You can even bring in an external speaker and play your own music. - When you first start off as a dishwasher, it can be disgusting. I got use to it after the first couple shift and now I've got a "to hell with it" attitude and I just get it done without any reservations. - I found their ad on Craigslist which is how I got the job, but they had it listed as "Line Cook" with pay somewhere between $9-15 based on experience. They actually brought me in as a dishwasher at $8, but any job in a restaurant, especially if you've got no experience and they're willing to train is a great job and I consider myself very fortunate.
