I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at The River's Edge (Shelby Township, MI) in Sept 2012
Interview
I responded to an ad on Craigslist from a restaurant looking for a Line Cook. The pay was suppose to be $9-15 an hour based on experience. I had none and the reason I responded was because they said in the ad that they were willing to train me.
I responded to the ad with my resume and I got a response that day. I was a little nervous with the phone interview the first time, but after the fourth one with the same exact questions, I was completely fine. Somewhere in between the first and fourth phone interview was an in-person interview at the restaurant. They had me fill out a paper application while I waited for one of the managers to catch up with the orders. The questions were few and simple and nothing like the ones that are asked by big businesses (situational responses, name your favorite/best/worst/hardest this or that).
The interviewer looked impressed a couple times after noting traits that would suggest a good line cook.
I got a call for a third and fourth phone interview. By the fourth phone interview, they offered me a dishwasher position at $8/hr. They would be training me to be a line cook from there.

Question 1
There weren't any "difficult questions". This was a very simple and pleasant interview process.
