Cons
Too much focus placed on career development - discussed at every status in detail - did you meet with your mentor? What classes are you taking? There are quarterly development plans, mid-year reviews, goals & objectives, annual reviews. The list goes on and on. Too many meetings in many areas. Your whole day is taken up with meetings, allowing you to actually get your job done before 8 and after 5. This makes it challenging to have a work/life balance. Lots of politics to deal with. Sometimes that is manageable, especially when you have support from your manager in navigation of the political field. If you don't, though, it is a real challenge.
